Ready to start the process on one of our beautiful kittens? Or would like to have a first chance on our waitlist for a specific Maine Coon kitten you are looking for (black smoke, polydactyly etc)?

Your first step is to fill out an application and send it to us, you can find the link for an application at the bottom of this page. Once the application has been filled out, we will contact you within 48 hours if approved.

Applications for available kittens: Once your application has been approved, we will contact you, at that time, we will send you the Sales Agreement/Contract to review. Once reviewed, if you are ready to move forward reserving your kitten, send your $1000 deposit ($500 non-refundable) through E-transfer or Cash. Once the deposit has been sent, send back your signed and initiated sales agreement/contract. We will then sign and send you a copy for your records.

Applications for waitlist kittens: Once your application has been approved, a $500 waitlist deposit is required. Once the deposit is paid in full, your name will be added to our waitlist.

Families on our waitlist will be notified of expected litters, when kittens are born, and will receive regular updates and photos as the kittens grow. Kitten selection will begin once the kittens are approximately 4–6 weeks old, when personalities and development can be better assessed.

When kitten selection begins, we will contact you with the kitten’s information and photos. You will then have 24 hours to decide whether you would like to proceed with reserving a kitten.

If you choose to reserve the kitten, we will send you the Sales Agreement/Contract to review. Once reviewed, please return the signed and initialled contract. We will countersign and provide you with a copy for your records. All paperwork is completed online; you will need to print, sign, and digitally return the contract.

If you choose not to accept an available kitten, you will remain on the waitlist for the next opportunity. If at any point you choose to leave the waitlist for any reason, your $500 deposit will be fully refunded.

What happens once you have officially reserved your kitten?

We understand how exciting this time is and how long it can seem to wait for your furry bundle of joy to be ready to join your family. We want to make this process enjoyable for you, and we truly believe it is important for you to get to know your kitten like we do.

1. You will receive bi-weekly updates and pictures of your kitten

2. Kept in the loop of all milestones (like weight gain, growth, first bath, grooming, eating, etc). Pictures or videos will be taken when possible.

3. Video chats with your fur baby bi-weekly

4. Notified of vet visits and health checks.

5. If other pets are in your home, you will be mailed a small blanket smelling of your new kitten to put out in your home. This will help other pets in the home to become familiar with the kitten’s scent before they arrive.

Important facts to be aware of:

• If a kitten’s health check comes back with any concerning results, you will be notified immediately. You then have the choice to keep the kitten, decline the kitten, choose a new kitten from upcoming litters, or take a full refund of your deposit.

• We will keep any kitten in the cattery past the 16 weeks if any illness or any concerns arise, kittens will stay in the cattery until they are 100% ready to join their new home. The kitten’s health and well-being will always be a Number 1 priority at Charlie and the Maine Coon Cattery.

• Kittens will be released to their new families once vaccinations and health checks are completed, around 15 - 16 weeks old.

• If, for whatever reason, you cannot take your kitten home within a week once he/she is ready to be released, there will be an additional charge of $25/day until the kitten is picked up, delivered or shipped.
